Dr. Silvia Marrara, Head of Sports Diplomacy at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation received The Open Field Award on behalf of the People of Italy for hosting the XXV Olympic Winter Games, whilst H.E. For over two decades the Truce Foundation has led the Olympic Truce through Sport Diplomacy, Youth, Education, and Culture.

The ancient Greek tradition of “Ekecheiria” was reaffirmed by the United Nations in 1993, and each President of the General Assembly since then has launched a Solemn appeal for peace before each Olympic Games.

International Olympic Committee Members, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, and Mrs. Laura Chichilla, Former President of Costa Rica attended the Ceremony.

Founder and President Hugh T. Dugan reminded the audience that Harmony is still possible in today’s world (https://www.deseret.com/opinion/2026/02/11/olympic-truce-humanity-harmony-armonia/) and introduced the newly launched Truce Compliance Index (Truce-index.vercel.app)
