Monaco on Children's Rights Issues at the Third Committee

On 10th October, Ms. Alyson Calem-Sangiorgio, Third Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Monaco to the United Nations, made a statement at the Committee on Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs, which focuses on the rights of children.

After reaffirming the importance of the promotion and protection of the rights of children for Monaco, Ms. Calem-Sangiorgio mentionend the actions of the Monegasque cooperation and its humanitarian partners, who help 130,000 children each year through social, medical, psychological, and academic support. She also underlined the Principality's flagship programs including the support to children marginalized for health reasons: those suffering from HIV / AIDS, sickle cell disease, or with disabilities.

At the national level, she also referred to the modernization of the law on adoption, with a text built around the "interest of the child".
