Monaco takes part in the Committee on Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs on issues relating to social development

On 1st October, International Day of Older Persons, Ms. Alyson Calem-Sangiorgio, Third Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Monaco to the United Nations, spoke at the Committee on Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs, on the place of the elderly in the Monegasque social policy.

After citing Monaco as the country with the highest life expectancy in the world, Ms. Calem-Sangiorgio presented the National Plan for aging as well as the social programs for seniors implemented by the Monaco City Council. She stressed the fact that home care remains a priority, but also highlighted the effectiveness of the Principality’s specialized institutions and their constant adaptation to meet the growing needs.
