Second networking event for Francophone staff and diplomats of the United Nations at the Monegasque Mission

On May 22nd, the day after World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, more than a hundred French-speaking UN staff members and diplomats gathered at the Permanent Mission of the Principality of Monaco for the second networking event of this kind.

The network, launched in December 2018 by the Permanent Representation of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) in New York, aims to strengthen social and professional ties between French-speaking UN staff members and diplomats from Member States part of the Francophone world, and thus acts in favor of the defense and promotion of multilingualism within the United Nations.

H.E. Mrs Isabelle PICCO, Permanent Representative of the Principality of Monaco to the United Nations, and Ms Narjess SAIDANE, Permanent Representative of the OIF to the United Nations, welcomed among the guests members of UN institutions (including UN Women, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNDP), Interpol, representatives of the French, Belgian and Rwandan Permanent Missions, the African Union, the various departments of the Secretariat (Economic and Social Affairs, Law of the Sea, Conference Services, Assembly General, Security Council ...) and representatives of renowned universities such as NYU, Brown or the Sorbonne.
